Speaking in the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler mentioned, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead till I feel better in regards to the direction of our nation."

"I am not okay with the state of this country. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I may have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that once you're dissatisfied with your country, you let or not it's identified by way of protest. The house of the brave should encourage this."
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion in opposition to gun violence in the USA.Kerr refused to discuss basketball forward of Sport 4 of the Warriors' collection towards the Dallas Mavericks, as a substitute raising his voice as he railed towards gun violence within the wake of Tuesday's shooting.
