Family of Abducted Girl Claims Inaction of Dallas Police & Mavs in Sex Trafficking Case

DALLAS - A 15-year-old woman from North Richland Hills is now dwelling after being abducted by a person at an April 8 Dallas Mavericks sport at American Airways Center. But the family still seeks answers, and is charging the Mavs, the AAC and Dallas Police for not appearing swiftly sufficient regarding the crime, which had the girl as a part of a sex-trafficking operation.

“She was gone missing a total of 11 days,” legal professional Zeke Fortenberry said. “Our intent is that means (the aforementioned organizations) are on discover that we’re pursuing claims against them for his or her negligence and different causes of action.''

Fortenberry said the teenager’s father informed police on the sport when he realized she was lacking. However, in keeping with the lawyer, the father was informed to report the allegations to his hometown North Richland Hills Police. 

Fortenberry claims NRH police said they weren’t capable of help as a result of the incident occurred in Dallas.

The attorney stated it was the Houston-based human trafficking agency Texas Counter-Trafficking Initiative that worked to seek out the lacking woman, who was being held in an Oklahoma City motel.

Dallas Police informed WFAA that they followed protocol'' and that they aided North Richland Hills PD within the search.

The Mavs responded publicly on April 20, after the lady was found, the crew releasing the next statement: “The American Airlines Middle (and the Dallas Mavericks) are grateful that the teenager has been found.Both entities will continue to cooperate with local and regional regulation enforcement on this case.''
