  2. Forgot to mention that I appreciate this guest being real not to ever simplify anything. As the body:brain is complex we need to come at it with different angles & methods to improve. This reminds us to pause & try to be the best we can & at the same time do some things for ourself that make us happy, instead of waiting until tomorrow.

  3. Lewis is overall a great, smart, & enthusiastic interviewer. I’ve learned so much esp w/ different perspectives & ideas from guests. We need to teach our brain to unlearn or learn things or give these chemicals & electrical networks thought to try to persuade them & at times the body & brain are telling ourselves things. It’s a ongoing give & take at the time. We need to appreciate & take time to reflect on our amazing complex whole body network.

  4. There was one teenage girl from USA who had brain damage from a sking accident. She had a most of her skull removed due to swelling of the brain. She had to have a third or half her brain removed due to infection. She later became a Medical doctor. She recovered.

  5. I wanted to become a neurosurgeon ever since I was 8 – after a surgeon helped me with injuries from a car accident. Went on to study Chinese and became a fantasy author (and made the mother of my MC a neurosurgeon), but this interview really sparks something in me. I don't think I'm ever going to become a neurosurgeon anymore, but I will take these lessons and insights with me.

  6. In yoga exercises there is a question of being in your body, as in, I believe, you store emotins in your body, your body is a sort of memory palace and moving it can gently move traumas. We start to establish bodily responses to emotions, to stiffen up some muscle or other and to keep it stiffened for a longish time which is uncomfortable and maybe intensely uncomfortable and who also get skin tension.
Reading about massaage can teach a lot about this sort of thing.
My yoga teacher, Ramiro Calle, mentioned some people getting sore throat in answer to emotions and others whose stomach gets effected when they are upset, which he said doctors had actualy seen. He said that doctors had, with cameras in the stomach, seen the stomach lining redden when the patient felt a negative emotions.
Also he mentioned the meditation of thinking your way down the body, starting at the top of your head and going down your head and then neck and then torso and arms and then legs, being a meditation which aligned atoms in your body or some such. I have to look this meditation up and see exactly what h said.

  7. to correct beow I suppose what my mother thought, with her, eomotions or interesting information, I came to think that activities needed to be exciting but i went to ballet classes were we only did exercises and found i was happy with a very quiet activity.

  8. Amazing topic. I love learning about other people's proffesion. Please bring more people with interesting proffesions onto this show. Gives a broader perspective to life and what goes on around us.

  9. I had a Trauma when I was in my 20s that would’ve been devastating if my husband hadn’t forgiven me for it not being my fault it changed everything and how I felt
