Uvalde police, faculty district not cooperating with Texas probe of capturing: Sources

The Uvalde Police Division and the Uvalde Independent College District police drive are no longer cooperating with the Texas Division of Public Security's investigation into the massacre at Robb Elementary School and the state's evaluate of the law enforcement response, multiple legislation enforcement sources tell ABC Information.

The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Impartial School District didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from ABC News.

According to sources, the choice to cease cooperating occurred quickly after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a news convention Friday during which he mentioned the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the improper choice" and contrary to protocol.

Reached by ABC Information, a spokesperson for the Texas Division of Public Security mentioned, "The Uvalde Police Department and Uvalde CISD Police have been cooperating with investigators. The chief of the Uvalde CISD Police offered an preliminary interview but has not responded to a request for a follow-up interview with the Texas Rangers that was made two days in the past."

Last Tuesday's assault, one of many worst school shootings in U.S. history, left 19 children and two adults dead.
