Taliban leader orders ladies to put on all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme leader and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the country’s women to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on women’s lives since the Taliban seized power.

“They need to wear a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it is traditional and respectful,” mentioned a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was launched by Taliban authorities at a operate in Kabul.

“Those girls who usually are not too old or young must cowl their face, except the eyes, as per sharia directives, to be able to avoid provocation when assembly males who should not mahram (adult close male kin),” the decree said.
