College students stroll out of colleges in protest of gun violence

Days after not less than 19 elementary college students and two lecturers were killed in a mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, students at schools across the nation staged walkouts to protest gun violence.

"You see information every single day about kids getting shot and people your age dying and it's simply incredibly sad and unbelievable, particularly to see like youngsters youthful and youngsters my age," Janoff advised ABC News. "I cant imagine that being me; but it is possible because it happens so often."

The 17 year-old says her faculty's administration was in support of the walkout and she or he hopes the over 200 planned demonstrations across the nation ship a transparent message that students are a "united front."

A walkout might not essentially change laws, Janoff mentioned, but these actions show "college students are still united in this."

She stated that although most college students aren't old enough to vote, they nonetheless want to see change and are prepared to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"College students don't have to be quiet about it just because they seem to be a kid," Janoff stated.
