LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC/Grey Information) - An incident that concerned players from a university’s lacrosse team and deputies in Georgia stays underneath investigation.

WTOC studies Delaware State University President Tony Allen released a statement on Monday responding to the incident that reportedly occurred on April 20 in Liberty County.

Allen wrote Georgia legislation enforcement stopped a bus for a minor site visitors violation with the Delaware State Lacrosse group on board. Deputies searched the belongings of the student-athletes, including suitcases with drug-sniffing dogs.

“100% you possibly can’t be in that left lane at all,” stated a Liberty County Sheriff’s Deputy.

“They didn’t actually ask us,” stated Sydney Anderson, a Delaware State Lacrosse Player. “They informed us of what they’re gonna do and no one questioned them...we simply let them rattle by way of our stuff.”

A player on the bus requested: “How did we go from being within the improper lane to going via our bags?”

A deputy responded: “Well, he stopped y’all, he didn’t stop y’all for a traffic violation...he stopped the driving force for a site visitors violation.”

Nothing illegal was found in the search, and Allen knowledgeable the public that he has contacted Delaware’s governor, the Black Caucus and other state officers.

Allen wrote that everybody was incensed over the incident.

Allen additionally added the next:

“We don't intend to let this or any other incident prefer it pass idly by. We are prepared to go wherever the evidence leads us. Now we have video. We have now allies. Maybe more considerably, we've the braveness of our convictions.”
