No college students or workers had been injured. The mother or father was taken to an area hospital after being shot within the leg. 

Arlington Police Chief Al Jones stated after White was launched from the hospital, he was arrested and charged with illegal carrying of a weapon in prohibited places and discharge of a firearm in sure municipalities.

Arlington dad and mom stated their minds immediately considered the worst when they had been notified.

"After I received the textual content message, I was like, ‘Oh my God, something goes to occur.’ I used to be shocked," mum or dad Karima Rasheed mentioned.

"I’m terrified, completely terrified. I’ve bought twin six-year-olds that go to a distinct Arlington faculty and each time I hear there is a lockdown or a school taking pictures, my coronary heart jumps into my throat," he stated.

Rasheed stated Thursday was the graduation day for 6th grade students at Duff Elementary.

While driving her son to school in the morning, she had a talk with him about Uvalde and what to do if something ever occurred at his faculty.

"If one thing happened, you’ve bought to run wherever that’s safe and hide," she informed her baby.

While some say the incident in Uvalde is too fresh to speak politics, Mitchell mentioned something needs to be finished now. 

"They want to discuss it, they want to campaign on it, they wish to fundraiser on it, however they don’t wish to really move any legal guidelines and do anything," he added.
