Final NYC public payphone removed

New York City's last bank of public payphones was faraway from a street corner in Midtown.

NEW YORK - The ultimate New York City public pay phone was eliminated on Monday morning. 

The financial institution of two phones was on 7th Avenue and 50th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. And, as you might anticipate in Manhattan, graffiti was scrawled on it. 

Town started removing payphones in 2015 and replacing them with public Wi-Fi hotspots.

The elimination marks the end of the payphone era in the metropolis aside from some private payphones on public property and four everlasting full-length so-called Superman booths.
