Speaking within the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead until I really feel higher about the course of our country."

In a blog post, Kapler questioned whether or not the nation's leadership is dedicated to representing its individuals's greatest pursuits and whether or not the United States is truly "the land of the free and the house of the courageous."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her youngsters. They blocked dad and mom making an attempt to organize to charge in to cease the shooter, together with a father who discovered his daughter was murdered whereas he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians determine that the lobbyist and gun industries are more important than our youngsters's freedom to go to highschool while not having bulletproof backpacks and lively shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he called "the shortage of delivery of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I'm not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I may have demonstrated what I discovered from my dad, that whenever you're dissatisfied together with your nation, you let it be recognized by protest. The home of the brave ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action towards gun violence in america.

Kerr refused to speak about basketball ahead of Sport 4 of the Warriors' sequence against the Dallas Mavericks, as a substitute elevating his voice as he railed against gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's shooting.

"In the final 10 days, we have had elderly Black people killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've children murdered at school," Kerr advised reporters at first of the press convention.

"When are we going to do one thing? I'm tired. I'm so uninterested in getting up right here and providing condolences to the devastated households which might be out there ... I am uninterested in the moments of silence. Sufficient."
