A fifth grade scholar in Florida was arrested over the weekend and charged with sending a textual content message threatening to hold out a mass capturing, authorities stated.
In a press release Saturday, the Lee County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned it had learned earlier that day of a "threatening textual content message" sent by a pupil at an elementary faculty.
It stated its native school threat enforcement group was immediately notified and started investigating. The ten-year-old boy was interviewed and charged later with "making a written menace to conduct a mass taking pictures," the sheriff's workplace said.
In video shared by authorities, the boy could be seen being led into a police automobile.
“This pupil’s behavior is sickening, particularly after the current tragedy in Uvalde, Texas,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a statement, noting that the threat got here just days after the lethal college capturing at Robb Elementary College left 19 students and two academics useless.
“Proper now just isn't the time to act like just a little delinquent. It’s not humorous,” he stated. “This youngster made a fake threat, and now he’s experiencing actual consequences.”
