Federal agents entered Uvalde college to kill gunman despite native police initially asking them to wait

Federal agents who went to Robb Elementary College in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday to confront a gunman who killed 19 kids had been advised by native police to wait and not enter the school — after which decided after about half an hour to disregard that preliminary steering and discover the shooter, say two senior federal regulation enforcement officers.
